Accident Recovery Team

When considering a personal injury or workers compensation claim, it is common to compare the various fee structures charged by attorneys. At Accident Recovery Team, you never pay a fee until you receive compensation from the insurance company or employer. After your injury claim settles, Accident Recovery Team charges a percentage of the amount recovered.

Comparing fee structures

When you hire an attorney to write your will, defend you in court, or assist in some other way, you generally pay an hourly rate for their time. You may put an initial payment down for a retainer. The retainer buys you so many hours of the attorney’s time. You also pay for records and other documents up-front.

The fee structure is entirely different at Accident Recovery Team. We never ask you to write a check. You do not pay up-front for attorney or staff time,  records requests, or administrative fees. The Accident Recovery Team only gets paid after your case is successful.

This fee structure is fairly standard among personal injury attorneys. What varies is the percentage charged by your attorney and on what terms. For example, the fee percentage is generally lower if the case is settled out of court and higher if a trial is required. Ask about the fee structure and have a firm understanding of all charges before you sign on the dotted line for any legal representation.

Transparent fees

Sometimes when we first meet prospective clients, they are shopping attorneys and comparing fees. That’s a legitimate thing to do. But, be sure you’re comparing apples to apples in that endeavor. We’ve found some firms charging higher rates and sneaking in extra expenses as the case progresses.

If you have questions about how to hire a personal injury attorney and what the standard fee structure should look like, please reach out. Contact any of the attorneys at Accident Recovery Team by calling 316.276.TEAM. We’ll be happy to answer your questions and provide a transparent explanation of our fee structure. The consultation is free and you never pay a fee until we win.
