As summer winds down and the back-to-school season gets underway, classrooms across the Wichita area have come back to life. Bulletin boards have been decorated, lesson plans are prepared, school supplies are organized, and teachers have welcomed a new group of students.
At the Accident Recovery Team, we know that teachers do so much more than teach. They encourage, inspire, mentor, support, and challenge their students every day. They create safe spaces where children can learn, grow, and discover their potential. And often, they do all of this while spending their own time and money to make their classrooms the best they can be. That is why we are excited to kick off the new school year with our Teacher Appreciation Giveaway!
Celebrating Wichita-Area Teachers
Teachers play an incredibly important role in our communities. Every school year brings new challenges and opportunities, and educators are there to help students navigate them. From the first day of kindergarten to the final bell of senior year, teachers can leave a lasting impression on their students. Sometimes, it is a lesson that sticks with them. Sometimes, it is a few encouraging words at exactly the right moment. And sometimes, it is simply knowing that someone believes in them.
We wanted to find a way to recognize the educators who go above and beyond for their students, and hopefully make the start of the school year a little easier along the way. Beginning August 14, 2026, we will be giving away $500 every other week to a deserving Wichita-area teacher through September 25. The money can be used toward classroom needs such as supplies, books, educational resources, and other materials that help create an enriching learning environment. Because we know that teachers have plenty on their back-to-school to-do lists, we want this giveaway to provide something practical while also reminding educators that their hard work is noticed and appreciated.
Know a Teacher Who Deserves Some Recognition?
The best part of this giveaway is that you don’t have to be a teacher to participate. If you know an educator who consistently goes the extra mile for their students, nominate them! Maybe they stay late to help a student who is struggling. Maybe they have transformed their classroom into a place where every child feels welcome. Maybe they spend their weekends searching for creative ways to make a lesson come alive. Or maybe they are simply the teacher who always seems to know when a student needs an extra word of encouragement. We want to hear those stories!
